List of Northeast Pest Management Strategic Plans

What are Pest Management Strategic Plans?

Each strategic plan arises from a two-day meeting of growers, researchers, and other stakeholders.  The group works through a list of key pests  to identify and discuss current and alternative pest management methods; constraints and opportunities for improved methods; and contingency plans to prepare for possible biological, market, or regulatory challenges.

A "To Do" list to address critical needs for research, regulation, and education is created from the discussion.

Why bother?  Strategic plans provide direction for improvement, prepare for emergencies, and represent the New England perspective in national regulatory decisions.  See How Pest Management Strategic Plans Are Used for a fuller description of the benefits they provide.

The importance of Pest Management Strategic Plans was written for Washington state, but is equally valid for New England.
