Introduction

This conference brought EPA national headquarters and regional officials together with the New England Pest Management Network Advisory Council (AC) to discuss pesticide related issues important in New England.  The AC is composed of New Englanders with a variety of perspectives on pest management.  The mission of the AC is to provide guidance and feedback to Federal, state, and University pest management and pesticide programs in the six New England states.

EPA and state pesticide regulatory agency representatives described the federal and state responsibilities for the “core” pesticide programs, including pesticide certification and training and enforcement. This was followed by New England stakeholder presentations on issues of concern in New England.  All presentations were followed by a question and answer discussion period.
The day culminated in a group discussion to identify major issues and how to make progress on them.
